UXD
I’m a UX Designer focused on Interaction Design and Visual Design, and a founding member of the Healio UXD Department where I currently work as Lead UX Designer.

I spend my days researching UX norms and best practices, sketching interfaces and flows, creating sitemaps, designing wireframes, mockups and prototypes, presenting design work to product owners and stakeholders and participating in sprint reviews.

Art Direction
In previous lives I’ve worked as an illustrator, an art director and a web designer. Click here to see my Art Direction Portfolio.

My Perspective on UXD

Experience makes a difference.
The thing about experience is you never know when it will come in handy. For example, during a recent project what I’ve learned purchasing lists for direct mail campaigns unexpectedly proved instrumental in building a tool for target list segmentation.

My experience in web design, including HTML and CSS, enables me to function as a liaison between Design and Front-End Development.

Process. Process. Process.
As a founding member, I have had the opportunity to form the Healio UXD department’s process from the ground up. The process I’ve developed is fast-paced, adaptive and always evolving.

More Communication. Better communication.
I believe people are the most important part of the UX process. Guided by this belief, I’ve influenced UX culture at Healio by encouraging open intra-departmental communication and championing changes like in-person handoffs to Development.

UX Ambassador
As UX design is relatively new to Healio, I function as ambassador, educator and enthusiastic champion of the iterative process as well as gatekeeper and protector of the design system
